The home was on Lake Minnetonka.

Authorities found a family of five dead Thursday in a home on Lake Minnetonka in what appeared to be a murder-suicide, KARE is reporting.

Siitari said that police suspect a murder-suicide. They do not believe there is a threat to the public.

KARE reported that it has identified the owner of the home but is declining to name him.

The Star Tribune reported the scanner chatter when police found the bodies in different parts of the house:

“Body in the house,” said an officer, found in a bedroom with a “traumatic injury.”

Dispatch asked, “More than one?”

“I believe so,” the officer responded.

A few minutes later, the other four were found.

Officer: “Victim 2 found in the basement, garage. ... Third body, basement. ... Fourth, basement.”

Then a different officer in the home reported to dispatch, “Another victim, lower level bedroom.”

The house was built in 1998 and last sold in September 2011 for $2 million, according to the Star Tribune.
