Gas Line Ruptures Near Excelsior School; No Injuries or Evacuations
The Excelsior Fire Department was dispatched Tuesday afternoon after crews laying cable hit a gas line near the intersection of Hwy. 7 and Hwy. 41.
No injuries were reported after crews laying coaxial cable along Hwy. 7 in Excelsior punctured a gas line Tuesday afternoon.
Excelsior Fire Department Captain Pat McCarthy said firefighters were called to the scene as a precaution and no evacuations were ordered. McCarthy said kids and staff at the nearby Our Savior Lutheran Church and School were never in danger.
A handful of nearby residences and businesses were without gas at 4 p.m., but service was expected to be re-established by nightfall.
