Orono High School Receives Prestigious Red Quill Legacy Award
The Orono High School Class of 2011 achieved the school's highest-ever ACT composite score of 26.1.

Orono High School is among a select number of schools to receive the inaugural ACT Red Quill Legacy Award; OHS is among five schools in the Twin Cities and only 17 nationwide to be distinguished with the honor.
“It is extremely gratifying to have our recent emphasis of increasing rigor at the high school affirmed by such a respected institution as ACT,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Karen Orcutt.
The award recognizes OHS for repeatedly sustaining exemplary performance on the ACT and utilizing training, resources and data analysis provided by ACT to best prepare students to perform well on the standardized test, as well as in college.

The Orono High School Class of 2011 achieved the school’s highest-ever ACT composite score of 26.1. What makes that accomplishment even more impressive is that 92 percent of last year’s seniors took the ACT.
The Red quill Legacy Award was presented to those public and private schools across the nine-state Midwest region of the United States that have repeatedly won the Red Quill Award. This year marks the third consecutive year that OHS has been recognized by ACT for its efforts.
