Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School Collecting Unwanted Keys to Help Grant Wishes
The Sunshine Foundation is the original wish granting organization. They have granted over 36,000 dreams to children abused, physically challenged and chronically ill since 1976.

Keys for Kids is encouraging students to improve the community, their environment, gain experience, and help their school by recycling unwanted metal keys with Students Recycling Keys. Students at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School in Mound are participating in the Students Recycling Keys program during Catholic Schools Week, Jan. 27 through Feb. 1.
The Sunshine Foundation is the original wish granting organization. They have granted over 36,000 dreams to children abused, physically challenged and chronically ill since 1976. They are represented in Minnesota by the all volunteer MN Dream Catchers Chapter.
The students at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School have decided that the proceeds of this key recycling event will benefit the Sunshine Foundation. Keys for Kids is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization operated by volunteers collecting, sorting and recycling keys to benefit kids. Since February 2011, volunteers have collected over 969 pounds of wasted metal keys. Keys for Kids is encouraging everyone to get involved and to help others and their environment by recycling unwanted metal keys.

According to the 2009 U.S. Census Bureau, the State of Minnesota showed a population of 5,266,214. If each resident donated just one key, this would also equal 154,888 pounds of wasted metal which can be reused.
