The Wayzata Community Sailing Center is hosting an open house on Tuesday, June 12, from 5 to 8 p.m. Attendees will be able to learn about the SailAway program, apply for lessons and see how the boats are custom-adjusted for those with different physical needs. Sailboat rides can be arranged for those who sign up in advance.
This is necessary so a boat can be prepared with the proper adaptive equipment.
Sail with Courage Center’s Operation Liberty:
Veterans and their families are invited to an evening of complimentary dinner and sailing from 5 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19. The first evening took place earlier this week.
Advance sign-ups are necessary for planning and so boats can be prepared with suitable adaptive equipment.
SailAway Adaptive Sailing Lessons:
Sailing lessons for people of any level of physical impairment are available in four-session blocks, lasting 2.5 hours each.
Whether it will be a sailor’s first experience on the water, or they are on their way to becoming an advanced racer in intense sailing competitions, the folks at the Wayzata Community Sailing Center are anxious to meet them.
