Take Your Kid Ice Fishing on Lake Minnetonka this Weekend

Saturday youth ice fishing league event on Lake Minnetonka is free and open to anyone wishing to wet a line and spend some time with their favorite kid.

Kids between the ages of four and 14 are invited to a free ice fishing event on Lake Minnetonka this weekend.

Fishing begins at 9 a.m. on Carsons Bay. Headquarters will be a green ice house in the middle of the bay.

Awards for most points and biggest fish will be presented at 11 a.m. to those who come to the weigh-in location in Carsons Bay. Saturday's ice fishing event is part of an ongoing ice fishing league for kids, but all are invited to fish this weekend.

Saturday, Jan. 5, kicked off the start of the season of the youth ice fishing season on Lake Minnetonka. Cold temps welcomed the anglers that ventured out on the ice. Those that did fish were rewarded with some sunfish action and a few pike on tip ups. That nasty flu bug going around took a few kids off the ice early.
