Thousands Expected to Lace up for Sunday's Lake Minnetonka Half Marathon

Thousands of runners are expected to descend on the area this weekend for the 31st Annual Lake Minnetonka Half Marathon.

Runners lacing up for the Lake Minnetonka Half Marathon Presented by OptumHealth Performance, Twin Cities Orthopedics & Jake O'Connor's will begin their 13.1 mile route in Wayzata and conclude their race at Commons Park in Excelsior. The starting gun fires at 8 a.m., with runners departing the start line in three separate waves.

Note: there is no race day packet pickup. Runners must take receipt of their number, timing chip, shirt and goodie bag between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday. Click here for more information.

Forecasts for Sunday morning call for a chance of with temperatures in the low 60s at race time—a nice improvement over last year's near-freezing conditions.
