TODAY: Lake Minnetonka Company Breaks Ground on New HQ
New building in Orono will be open this year.

Locally-based JEM Technical Marketing, Inc. will build a new 40,000 square foot facility in Orono. The company is expanding and will relocate its corporate offices, warehouse and assembly operations to the new location.
Founded in 1984 by John and Sheryl Menge, the company employs 85 people and is a manufacturer of integrated hydraulic valves serving mobile and industrial equipment manufacturers in the upper Midwest.
"Our goal is move by mid summer 2012," Polly Andersen, a spokesperson for JEM, said. "The building shell is in place, and we will be pouring concrete and finishing out the building per architectural plans."

Andersen said the new building will be located at 550 Old Crystal Bay Road in Orono on the corner of Hwy. 112 and Old Crystal Bay Road. A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for today at 3 p.m.
JEM generates more than $28 million in annual revenues, and company brass didn't have to look far when it came time to decide where to expand.

"The company decided to stay local because it is committed to this community through the long term employees and their families," Andersen said.
