Today: 'The World Needs All Kinds of Minds' Playing at Southshore Center

Video focuses on how to teach autistic kids, and used her special abilities to solve problems "normal" minds could not understand.

A video replay of a TED lecture by Temple Grandin, a well-known speaker on how the autistic mind works (“Thinking in Pictures”), will be featured today at the Southshore Center in Shorewood.

As a child, Grandin was diagnosed herself as autistic. She overcame the educational system’s ignorance of how to teach autistic kids, and used her special abilities to solve problems “normal” minds could not understand.

Grandin says we need all these smart, geeky kids whose minds think differently. For more info, www.TED.com. No registration necessary. If you would like to stay for lunch at the center after the program, please RSVP your lunch reservation to 952.474.7635.
