Wayzata Yacht Club Hosts Intuitive Racing Rules Seminar

Instructors Steve Truax and Tom Brown will present a seminar on Intuitive Sailboat Racing Rules this week at the Wayzata Yacht Club.

The seminar begins at 6:30 p.m. this Thursday, March 29, but attendees are encouraged to come early to enjoy happy hour and conversation.

Cost is $20 at the door or $18 if purchased online with PayPal.

Below is a short description of the seminar, posted on the Wayzata Yacht Club's web site:

Good Intuition is 80 percent observation, 15 percent knowledge and 5 percent instinct.

• Observations—the primary feed for the situational evaluation
• Knowledge—the impact of the observations and exposes choices,
• Instinct—applied when a clear choice is not immediately available or a negative choice needs to be avoided. 

Instructors will discuss how to balance a "point in time reference" with the background required to recognize the implications of that single slice of time.
