(Lakeville, MN) – The Waters Way is making a big splash in Lakeville, and a party is planned to celebrate. Live music will greet guests when they arrive at The Waters of Kingsley Shores & Kingsley Place for the grand re-opening of the senior living community on Thursday, September 18, 2025.

The party gets underway around 4 p.m. in the lobby. The Waters of Kingsley Shores and Kingsley Place is located at 16880 Klamath Trail, Lakeville, MN 55044.

Planned is live music provided by Minneapolis singer and pianist Bjorn Briel, who is best known for the song, "Make Me a Sandwich," which received airtime on local radio when it debuted. Refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be served; and there will be several prizes offered, including baskets from local businesses.

Maynard Simon, 77, and his wife, Jackie, 78, are among the residents looking forward to attending the party. They have lived at The Waters of Kingsley Shores and Kingsley Place for an entire year now and say the changes The Waters made upon taking over ownership have been welcome improvements.

“The changes are just unbelievable! There have been improvements to dining, the quality, the service, the friendliness of staff and the camaraderie we have in the men’s groups and the women’s groups,” said Maynard Simon. “There is always stuff going on. We love it here.”

“I enjoy Bingo, the crafts, singing with the community choir, and visiting with members of the community’s ladies’ group. Plus, there’s also a Happy Hour to go to on Fridays. We really enjoy spending quality time the people here,” said Jackie Simon.

The Simons decided to move to The Waters of Kingsley Shores and Kingsley Place after realizing their family home in Faribault had become too difficult to maintain. They also wanted to be closer to their children and grandchildren, who live in Elko New Market and Chaska.

Elko New Market is about a 15-minute drive away. Chaska is a 40-minute drive away.
