His loyalty and friendships were fittingly rewarded on Saturday as the senior netted what would turn out to be the game-winning goal to help the Cougars clinch a third-place finish at the Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament. Patrick Lauderdale put the Cougars on the scoreboard first off a Kloos assist in the the first period. Kloos' goal past Moorhead stalwart goaltender Michael Bitzer in the second gave the Cougars a 2-0 cushion. The Spuds would counter with a goal but the Cougar defense staved off a Moorhead comeback.
