Cougars Down Spuds to Take Third at State
Kloos gets the game-winner to end high school career.

Justin Kloos chose to stay at for his senior season to play with his friends despite numerous opportunities to play elsewhere. His loyalty and friendships were fittingly rewarded on Saturday as the senior netted what would turn out to be the game-winning goal to help the Cougars clinch a third-place finish at the Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament.
Patrick Lauderdale put the Cougars on the scoreboard first off a Kloos assist in the the first period. Kloos' goal past Moorhead stalwart goaltender Michael Bitzer in the second gave the Cougars a 2-0 cushion. The Spuds would counter with a goal but the Cougar defense staved off a Moorhead comeback.
Lakeville South in the opening round then ran into an squad in the semifinals, losing 10-1.
