(PHOTOS) Heartbreak: Lakeville North Loses to Osseo on Buzzer-Beater

Lakeville North's boys basketball team finishes second in Class AAAA, the best boys basketball finish in the city's history.

Saturday's Class AAAA state title game ended in heartbreak for 's boys basketball team.

Osseo defeated the Panthers, 49-47, on a buzzer-beater by Ian Theisen, just seconds after North's Grant Erickson tied the game late in dramatic fashion with four consecutive points, including a clutch free throw with a minutye to go.

The Panthers were down 23-16 after the first half, which was ugly and sloppy for both teams.

But the Panthers used a stingy defense to claw back and take the lead midway through the second.

With a little more than 30 seconds remaining, Osseo called timeout and whittled the clock down. With seven seconds left, DJ Hebert drove the lane and the play broke down, leaving Thiesen free on the wing for the game winner.
