Lakeville Man Found With 23 Grams of Marijuana, Charged

Jonathan Ross Roorda was stopped last week in Richfield and arrested after police say they found marijuana and Adderall in his car.

A man is facing felony drug charges after Richfield police stopped him last week and found more than 23 grams of marijuana and two Adderall tablets in his car.

Jonathan Ross Roorda, 24, is charged with possession of Adderall and the sale of marijuana, each of which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Roorda is free on a $3,000 bond. An omnibus hearing in his case is scheduled May 2 in Hennepin County District Court.

According to the criminal complaint, a Richfield police officer on patrol stopped Roorda’s car on March 15 because it lacked a front license plate.

While talking to Roorda, the officer detected the odor of marijuana coming from the car, according to the complaint. In a subsequent search of the car, the officer found a glass jar containing 23.2 grams of marijuana and two Adderall pills.

Adderall, an amphetamine, is used for the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and narcolepsy. It is available only by prescription.

Roorda told police that he didn’t have a prescription for Adderall and that he had gotten the pills from a friend. He also admitted to police that he sells marijuana, according to the complaint.
