Lakeville Residents Shred Documents En Masse in Bank Program

US Federal Credit Union brought shredding trucks to five local branch locations, allowing residents to dispose of personal documents.

Lakeville residents had the opportunity to participate in a mass-shredding of their personal documents as part of a US Federal Credit Union program designed to bolster privacy and to help the environment.

The program was run last month at five Twin Cities branch locations of the Burnsville-based bank, according to a statement released today.

Overall, the communities recycled 34,908 pounds of material, the equivalent of 298 trees and 122,178 gallons of water saved, according to Shred Right, the bank's partner.
