Lakeville Turns In-House, Hires Zach Johnson as New City Engineer
Johnson was hired to replace longtime City Engineer Keith Nelson, who retired last year.

Lakeville's newest city engineer knows a thing or two about town. And the man he's replacing.
announced on Monday that current Assistant City Engineer Zach Johnson has been hired to replace Kieth Nelson who retired from the position last year after nearly 30 years at the helm.
Johnson had worked under Nelson since 2001 in various capacities, and took over as interim city engineer after Nelson retired. He was selected, according to the city, following a regional search for a replacement to Nelson.

“His background and experience in the engineering field as well as his knowledge of the city of Lakeville make him a great fit for the position” said Christopher Petree, Lakeville's public works director.
The City Engineer is responsible for the planning and coordination of activities of the Engineering Division which also includes Environmental Resources and Geographical Information Systems.
