Letter to the Editor: ALEC and Local Legislators Stripping Democracy

To the editor:

Subduing the general population presents tremendous profit potential.

That’s why the secretive American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) was organized.

The ALEC is quietly driving legislation to subjugate us and our government to the capitalists.

ALEC designed the overall plan, has a staff writing model legislation and has puppet lawmakers implementing laws. To achieve full domination, evade taxes and maximize profits.

Twenty-six major corporations such as General Electric, Boeing, Verizon, and Mattel paid no taxes for the last four years, despite billions in profits. ALEC ensures tax cuts and subsidies to big oil and pushes the XL Keystone pipeline so the capitalists can make money exporting jet fuel and diesel while profiteering from increasing domestic gas prices.

The plan also calls to rob unemployment insurance, Medicaid, Medicare and social security and put billions of our money in the hands of capitalists.

Prisons are to be cleared out and prisoners assigned to private enterprises like slaves.

All those "burdensome regulations" which protect us from acid rain, burning rivers, contaminated hamburger meat, bad drugs and poisoned peanut butter are to be eliminated.

Long ago, President Eisenhower warned us, but recently, major corporations like McDonald, Kraft Foods, Intuit, Mars Candy, Wendy’s, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation identified ALEC as our existential enemy and have disassociated themselves.

In our neighborhood, Pat Pariseau, Michael Jungbauer, Ted Daley, Chis Gerlach, Pam Myhra, and Pat Garofalo are confirmed ALEC agents.

Garofalo is discrediting and eroding our education. He injects untrained and uncertified teachers into our schools and is subsidizing the for-profit unregulated schools with taxpayers money vouchers.

Together they are all working on voter suppression and in extinguishing the remnants of unions after the capitalists did the big part by sending our jobs offshore. Can we stop them and take our democracy back?
