Patch Match: Kids 'n Kinship Seeks Mentors for Youth

Editor's note: Most weeks, Patch will post the profile of a child who is on the waiting list for a mentor through Kids 'n Kinship, an Dakota County-based organization that matches kids in the south metro with adult mentors.

First name: Laneos 

Age: 11 

Interests: Laneos is veryactive and loves all kinds of sports (including baseball, basketball, football,hockey and roller blading) and he also enjoys building with Legos. 

Personality/Characteristics: Laneos is active, talkative, sweet, giving and thoughtful.  His single parent mom is looking for a positive role model for Laneos. He struggles in school (he’s in 5thgrade) and talks back to his teacher. 

Goals/Dreams: Hewould love to go to a skatepark or fishing or play football with a mentor! 

Looking For: An individual male or couple mentor to look up to and have fun with.

For More Information: This child is one of almost 50 children currently waiting for a mentor through Kids ‘n Kinship, a private non-profit serving Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Farmington, Lakeville and Rosemount in Dakota County for 40 years. If you're interested in becoming a mentor, you're invited to attend an information session oon Monday April 16, 6-6:45 p.m. at the Burnhaven Library in Burnsville. Mentors can volunteer as individuals, couples, or families for weekly fun and enriching activities at home or in the community on their own schedules.Thank you!
