Patch Match: Kids 'n Kinship Seeks Mentors for Youth

Editor's note: Most weeks, Lakeville Patch will post the profile of a child who is on the waiting list for a mentor through Kids 'n Kinship, an Dakota County-based organization that matches kids in the south metro with adult mentors.

Age: 5 

Interests: He enjoys playing with trucks, sledding, skating, biking, swimming, fishing, coloring & painting, playing games, and watching movies.  

Personality/Characteristics: QJ is outgoing, friendly, and active.  He lives with his older sister who has a mentor and his mom and baby sister. 

Goals/Dreams: He would like to learn his ABC's, be happy, and get to play a lot. 

Looking for: A mentor family, couple or individual with a positive attitude to give him the attention he needs.

For More Information: This child is one of over 50 children currently waiting for a mentor through Kids ‘n Kinship, a private non-profit serving Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Farmington, Lakeville and Rosemount in Dakota County for 40 years. If you're interested in becoming a mentor, you're invited to attend an information session on Jan. 12, 6-6:45 p.m. at the Burnhaven Library in Burnsville. Mentors can volunteer as individuals, couples, or families for weekly fun and enriching activities at home or in the community on their own schedules. Thank you!
