Upcoming Shows at the Lakeville Area Arts Center in January

The Lakeville Area Arts Center will feature a coffee concert and a children's theater production during the month of January. 

The first Coffee Concert of 2014 will feature two Minnesota Opera resident artists. Victoria Vargas, mezzo-soprano, and John Robert Lindsey, tenor, will perform at the Lakeville Area Arts Center for "an intimate afternoon at the opera."

The performance is 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students and seniors.

The second featured performance at the Lakeville Area Arts Center is Tarzan, a Children's Castle Theater production. The description of the production is as follows: 

"When a human infant is left orphaned in the jungle, he is taken in by a caring mother ape. A boy among gorillas is bound to stand out and Tarzan must fight for acceptance from his tribe. When explorers are spotted in the jungle, the ape-boy is forced to face his toughest challenge yet."

Show times are:

• Jan. 17 and 24 at 7 p.m.
• Jan. 18 and 25 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
• Jan. 19 and 26 at 2 p.m.
