• How Ramsey County is making its ice rinks smarter and greener (twincities.com) — Maplewood’s Aldrich Arena is getting smarter and greener, with new solar panels, LED lighting, insulation, and accessibility upgrades aimed at cutting energy use and utility costs. Ramsey County is also seeking major bonding money to modernize the 60-year-old venue into a more comfortable, multiuse community event center serving everything from hockey to graduations and cultural celebrations. 
• Recent ICE activity: Chanhassen rooftop standoff, Ilhan Omar's son stopped (bringmethenews.com) — Federal immigration agents detained two people Sunday morning in Maplewood parking lots outside Maplewood Mall and the Hy-Vee on White Bear Avenue, according to local police. The arrests are part of a broader ICE surge across the Twin Cities that has included a construction-site standoff in Chanhassen and a traffic stop involving Rep. Ilhan Omar’s son.
