Angie Craig Announces Start Of Annual Art Contest

The contest is open to high school students in Minnesota's 2nd Congressional District.

MINNESOTA — Representative Angie Craig announced the start of the 2022 Congressional Art Competition.

High school students in Minnesota's 2nd Congressional District have until April 25 to submit, Craig said in a news release.

The winning submission will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol alongside the winners from the other districts, Craig said.

"I am so excited to continue one of my favorite traditions this Spring by requesting submissions for the annual Congressional Art Competition to highlight the immense artistic talent of students in the Second District," Craig said. "I encourage every high school student in our community to participate by submitting your artwork to my office by the April 25th deadline. I can’t wait to see the results of your hard work!"

Submitted art must be one of the following mediums:

  • Paintings: oil, acrylics, watercolor, etc.
  • Drawings: colored pencil, pencil, ink, marker, pastels, charcoal (It is recommended that charcoal and pastel drawings be fixed.)
  • Collages: must be two dimensional
  • Prints: lithographs, silkscreen, and block prints
  • Mixed Media: use of more than two mediums such as pencil, ink, watercolor, etc.
  • Computer-generated art
  • Photography

Submit art by filling out this form and emailing a high-quality photo of the piece to RepCraig.ArtComp@mail.house.gov.
