Dakota County Government: Sibley Historic Site To Host Planting Events
The Sibley Historic Site will host two planting events.

The Sibley Historic Site will host two planting events. On Saturday, June 4 the Adult Planting Event will take place at the Sibley Site from 4:30–7:30 p.m. Admission to this event is $25 per person, $20 for members of the Dakota County Historical Society and Minnesota Historical Society, or $10 for students (16 and under). Registration includes complimentary sandwiches and water.

The Children's Planting Event will take place on Saturday, June 11 at the site from 4:30–6:30 p.m. Registration for this event is $10 per child with parent chaperones being free. Registration includes admission, snacks, water, plants, and seeds. A parent must remain with the child during the event.
The Sibley Historic Site is located at 1357 Sibley Memorial Highway in Mendota, Minn. Registration is limited, so contact the Sibley Site at 651-452-1596 to reserve a spot. For more information, or to reserve online, please visit the Dakota County Historical Society website.

During the planting events, attendees will learn about traditional Native American agriculture, followed by a hands-on learning experience. During the hands-on experience, you will plant a garden using the companion planting gardening technique.
