Day Care Fire Inspections Will Now Cost $50

The City Council approved the fee at the July 16 meeting.

Any day care in Mendota Heights that has a fire inspection will pay $50 starting Aug. 1, 2013.

The City Council approved the fee as part of a consent agenda during the July 16 meeting.

Chances are there will not be a lot of requests for the inspections, however. The city "has had two requests in the last two years to perform a day care inspection," according to the council agenda.

If a day care does ask for an inspection, Fire Marshal Jim Lee will do it.
