Former S. St. Paul Basketball Coach Took His Own Life Monday: Report

His death was two days before he was scheduled to be sentenced in federal court for fraud, The St. Paul Pioneer Press reported.

SOUTH SAINT PAUL, MN β€” South St. Paul High School's former boys basketball coach Matthew McCollister took his life Monday, according to a report by the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

His death was two days before he was scheduled to be sentenced in federal court for fraud, the publication reported.

Prosecutors said he was part of a scheme to defraud car insurance companies with fake medical claims, the report said. McCollister pleaded guilty in January, according to the report.
