Mendota Heights high school students are invited to apply for open student representative positions on the City’s Parks and Recreation Commission and Natural Resources Commission. Student representatives serve as communication links for ideas, observations, concerns, and questions to each commission.
Students can apply to serve on one of the following commissions:

Parks and Recreation Commission:
The Mendota Heights Parks and Recreation Commission advises the City Council on matters pertaining to parks and recreation programs. The Commission makes recommendations relating to the acquisition, development and improvement of the city’s parks and recreational facilities and advises the City Council on the establishment of written rules and regulations for the use and management of city parks.
The Parks and Recreation Commission meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm.
Natural Resources Commission:
The Mendota Heights Natural Resources Commission advises the City Council on matters pertaining to natural resources, sustainability, environmental and climate stewardship and opportunities for the advancement of those areas including developing and recommending policies and initiatives that enhance and preserve natural resources within the city.
The Natural Resources Commission meets the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 6:00pm.
Interested students must be:
Students Representatives are appointed to one (1) term which runs from September, 2022 to May, 2023. Students who participate as a freshman, sophomore or junior may reapply if they wish to serve one additional term. Student Representatives serve as non-voting members of the advisory commission.
Interested students should complete and submit the Student Representative application and questionnaire by Friday, June 10, 2022 to be considered. Information can be submitted:
