Osseo Area Schools ISD 279: Advisory Group Continues To Discuss District Enrollment, Capacity And Building Use
At the end of the school year the team will provide observations and recommendations to district leaders.

The Enrollment and Capacity Management Advisory Committee (ECMAC) met Jan. 31 to continue their work of analyzing enrollment, capacity and building use information. The team heard information and then discussed:

- The 279Online program;
- A growing housing development in northwest Maple Grove; and
- Enrollment projections and building capacity from a variety of angles.
Last year’s team recommended that ECMAC:
- Evaluate the impact and implications of the COVID-19 pandemic on enrollment;
- Evaluate the enrollment and capacity-related impact and implications of 279Online;
- Work with the City of Maple Grove to better understand the timing of future housing development;
- Identify potential options to address under-capacity conditions in schools across the district, particularly at: Crest View and Fair Oaks Elementary Schools, and North View Middle School; and
- Reassess overcapacity conditions at: Fernbrook Elementary School, Maple Grove Senior High School (classroom and cafeteria space), Osseo Senior High School (cafeteria space), and Park Center Senior High School (media center space).
At the end of the school year the team will provide observations and recommendations to district leaders. Updates and current meeting materials can be found on the ECMAC website.
