Top Spellers At ISD 197's 25th Annual Spelling Bee Announced

DAKOTA COUNTY, MN — The West St. Paul Optimist Club hosted ISD 197's 25th annual spelling bee on Jan. 13, the school district said.

Several elementary schools and two middle schools in the district competed at the spelling bee, the district said.

Here are the top spellers from each school that competed:

• Ian B. from Garlough Elementary School
• Derek J. from Mendota Elementary School
• Isabelle D. from Moreland Elementary School
• Violet L. from Pilot Knob Elementary School
• Henry S. from Somerset Elementary School
• Hannah T. from Friendly Hills Middle School
• Grant J. from Heritage Middle School

The top elementary speller was Derek J. from Mendota Elementary and the top middle school speller was Hannah T. from Friendly Hills Middle, the district said on its website.
