4 Minnesota Coronavirus Deaths Overnight; State Reaches 500 Cases
The increases in confirmed cases and deaths come after Gov. Tim Walz issued a statewide "stay at home" order to slow virus transmission.
MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Health officials in Minnesota say the state has now seen nine coronavirus-related deaths, an increase of four over Saturday. State officials also say Minnesota has seen a total of 503 positive cases as of Sunday morning, an increase from 441 on Saturday.
State officials had yet to confirm the locations of the four latest COVID-19-related deaths, or information such as the age and sex of each of the deceased. The increases in confirmed cases and deaths come after Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz issued a statewide "stay at home" order earlier in the week. That order went into effect Friday at 11:59 p.m.
The measure directs Minnesotans to limit movements outside of their home beyond essential needs. It will last until 5 p.m. on April 10.

The order doesn't mean you can't leave your home for things like groceries or going for a walk to get fresh air. It does mean, however, that residents must continue social distancing. You should only leave home if it's absolutely necessary.

"We must take bold action to save the lives of Minnesotans," Walz said earlier. "Having served as a command sergeant major in the Army National Guard, I know the importance of having a plan. While the virus will still be here when this order ends, this action will slow the spread of COVID-19 and give Minnesota time to ready for battle."
