Cooler Temps For Unofficial End Of Summer: MN Weather

MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesotans can be done with the extreme heat for the foreseeable future. High temperatures will stay in the 70s and low 80s this week.

Labor Day's high will only be 71 degrees in the Twin Cities metro area.

"Showers likely throughout Thursday with scattered storms possible, with the best chance for strong to severe storms in southern MN," the National Weather Service said.

"Clouds decrease Friday with cool and dry weather through Labor Day."

Wednesday: Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 78. East wind 5 to 10 mph.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. East wind around 10 mph.

Thursday: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3pm. Some of the storms could be severe. High near 84. Southeast wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
