Nebraska Man Charged In 2 Minneapolis Carjackings
Nathan Mathias Sughroue, 31, was federally charged with two counts of carjacking.
MINNEAPOLIS — A Nebraska man has been indicted for two carjackings, U.S. Attorney Andrew M. Luger announced on Thursday.
Nathan Mathias Sughroue, 31, was charged with two counts of carjacking.
Sughroue made his initial appearance in U.S. District Court on Aug. 29. The judge ordered him to remain in federal custody pending further proceedings.

On June 16, Sughroue used violence and intimidation to steal a Hyundai Elantra from one victim, authorities said.
Later that same day, Sughroue used the same tactics "that resulted in serious bodily injury" to steal a Nissan Murano from a second victim, according to investigators.

This case is the result of an investigation conducted by the Shakopee Police Department, Robbinsdale Police Department, Minneapolis Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, and the FBI.
Assistant U.S. Attorney David M. Classen is prosecuting the case.
