• Art Play! at Minneapolis Institute of Art (thriftyminnesota.com) — Families can dive into free, hands-on Art Play! sessions at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, held 10 a.m.–2 p.m. on the first and third Saturdays each month. Starting January 3, 2026, each date features a different medium—from cardboard creations to clay, fabric flowers, and crayons—giving Minneapolis residents of all ages an easy way to make their own art in Mia’s studios.
   

• St. Paul police release video from officer-involved shooting that injured gun-waving suspect (startribune.com) — A Minneapolis man was wounded when St. Paul police shot him in the leg after he allegedly pointed a gun at officers while fleeing a reportedly stolen car near an I-94 ramp. Newly released dash and body cam video shows the confrontation, and the suspect now faces multiple assault and vehicle theft charges as state investigators review the officers’ actions.
   

• UW-Eau Claire professor performs with Snoop Dogg at NFL Christmas show (wkow.com) — A Christmas Day NFL halftime show at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis featured Snoop Dogg performing with a Twin Cities–assembled ensemble that included UW–Eau Claire music professor Alexander Henton on French horn. Henton describes the massive production, from rehearsals under the stadium lights to stepping onto a nearly full Minneapolis crowd, as a once-in-a-lifetime experience he’ll share with his students.
