Minnesota is expected to finally get an extended period of dry and cooler summer weather this week.
MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesotans can expect more rain with threats of severe storms on Monday. However, we will get an extended period of dry and mild weather days starting Tuesday, according to the latest forecast. It will present good chances to mow the lawn.
"Strong to severe thunderstorms possible this morning across western and central Minnesota. Damaging winds and large hail will the be primary threats," the National Weather Service said Monday.
"This afternoon an additional, but lower, chance for strong to severe thunderstorms to develop again across eastern Minnesota into western Wisconsin, damaging wind gusts are the primary threat, followed by large hail."

Dry weather is expected Tuesday through Saturday.

South southwest wind 5 to 15 mph becoming west northwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
