MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Target is launching new AI-powered features to make holiday shopping faster, easier, and more personalized this year, the company announced Tuesday.

The Minneapolis-based retailer unveiled tools that include a conversational Target Gift Finder, a List Scanner that can upload handwritten shopping lists, and an upgraded Store Mode to guide shoppers through aisles in real time.

“We know so many of our guests love shopping our stores with their phones in hand, and when they use the Target app in-store, their basket sizes are nearly 50% higher as they discover more of what they love,” said Cara Sylvester, Target’s chief guest experience officer. “We’re committed to making the shopping experience this year even more connected, personal and intuitive.”

The new Gift Finder uses AI to generate personalized gift ideas based on information about the recipient or occasion. Meanwhile, the List Scanner lets guests scan handwritten notes or holiday wish lists to add items directly to their Target app shopping cart.

In stores, Store Mode now automatically activates when customers enter, offering aisle-by-aisle navigation and alternative delivery options if items are unavailable. Guests can also take part in a new “Find Bullseye” scavenger hunt for the Target mascot and collect holiday stickers at checkout while supplies last.
