Terri Bonoff kicks of campaign in Senate District 44 on Saturday.

The following is a press release from Terri Bonoff's campaign.
Earlier today, Terri Bonoff gathered with supporters to kick off her campaign for State Senate in the redrawn Senate District 44, which includes Northern Minnetonka and most of Plymouth. Several community leaders and city officials also joined the celebration, including former Minnetonka Mayor Karen Anderson and former City Manager John Gunyou.
"I could not be more grateful for the support I'm seeing from across the area. I'm more eager than ever to reach out to those voters I have yet to meet in the months ahead and listen to what their priorities are for our community and our state," said Bonoff.
Over 60 supporters braved the rainy conditions and then the sun broke through. They enjoyed lunch and music together at before heading out to knock on doors in the neighborhood and spread the word about Bonoff's campaign.
A former marketing executive, Bonoff has served in the Minnesota Senate since 2005 and has been a leading advocate on the issues that impact not only the West Metro but also the state at large. She has been a tireless voice for K-12 schools and has authored legislation to improve teacher quality and protect some of the best and brightest educators from unfair layoffs. She has also been a close ally of the area business community and has fought hard for needed investments in the southwest light rail line.
"I'm proud of my reputation in the legislature as someone who puts my district ahead of politics," she said. "I've worked closely with members of both parties to move our state forward. I hope to have the opportunity to serve again next year with a group of legislators that share my commitment to building a future of economic strength where families thrive, students soar, environmental protections are a prioity and our health care is both cost efficient and life saving."
Bonoff lives in Minnetonka with her husband, Matthew Knopf. Together they raised four children.
