Calling All Inventors to Summer Camp!
Camp Invention is a week-long summer day program for students entering grades one through six.
Minnetonka Community Ed along with Invent Now, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring and fostering invention and creativity, is pleased to announce that its nationally-acclaimed Camp Invention program is returning this summer.
is a week-long summer day program for students entering grades one through six, created in partnership with the National Inventors Hall of Fame and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
The program engages children to discover their own innate creativity and inventiveness through hands-on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) content.

There will be a total of two week-long programs running in the Minnetonka District as follows:
- The Envision program will run from June 25-29 at
- The Innovate program will run from Aug. 13-17 at
“Based on feedback from the country’s finest school districts, Camp Invention has earned a reputation as a leader in high-quality summer programming," explained Michael J. Oister, Chief Operating Officer for Invent Now. "This has helped the organization grow to a national program serving over 83,000 children. Parents tell us Camp Invention improves their child’s outlook on learning and increases their child’s interest in using science to solve problems.”

Each day of camp, children rotate through four integrated modules that employ creative thinking to solve real-world challenges. Children learn vital 21st century life skills such as problem solving and teamwork through imaginative play.
In this summer’s Envision program, children will experience different modules including Inventeureka, Action and Adventure Games, Magnetropolis and I Can Invent: Balloon Burst. Children will spend their week visiting a faux island to study magnetism, taking a fantasy adventure on the Ci6000 Space Modulator Time Machine and inventing a balloon-bursting machine.
During the Innovate program, children will experience different modules entitled Power’d, Hatched, I Can Invent: Balloon Burst and Action and Adventure Games. Children in this program will spend their week studying electricity and learning how to power Direct Current (DC) motors.
