Landscaping and construction crews have begun work on Minnetonka’s newest park, Ridgedale Commons. Workers began by planting 25-foot white pines and pouring the footings for the new park building. The building will include restrooms, a warming house and rentable space.

The park is a two-acre community space featuring inclusive, sustainable gathering spaces, including a plaza and grassy lawn, both doubling as event space. The park will also include space for an ice skating rink, a garden room with pollinator-focused plants, an interactive fountain, and a wooded lounge area.

As part of the project, nearby Crane Lake Preserve will be updated to include improved views of Crane Lake along with improved landscaping and trails, and storm water gardens. A new picnic shelter with benches and bike racks is also planned.
