Couple Found With 317 Grams of Pot in Minnetonka Apartment

Kristina Lynn Garvey, of Minnetonka, and Jorge Alberto Perez-Amparo, of St. Louis Park, are both charged with felony fifth-degree possession of drugs.

Police say they found two people in a Minnetonka apartment with 317 grams of marijuana.

Kristina Lynn Garvey, 26 of Minnetonka, and Jorge Alberto Perez-Amparo, 20 of St. Louis Park, are both charged with felony fifth-degree possession of drugs.

On Feb. 10, Minnetonka Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in an apartment at 10301 Cedar Lake Road. Police say they heard a loud thump and shouting before entering the apartment. According to officers, two plastic baggies full of pot were found in plain view on the living room table.

Police say they also saw in plain view additional bags of marijuana and a bundle of cash in the amount of $6,626 in an open closet.

Perez-Amparo allegedly told police that he was in his girlfriend's apartment and all of the pot belonged to him. Garvey allegedly told police that some of the money in the closet was hers that she had given Perez-Amparo to buy a pound of pot. She told officers she bought the marijuana in order to make easy money, according to the complaint.
