For high school sports fans, there's perhaps no bigger event this weekend than the start of football season. <a href="http://www.minnetonka.k12.mn.us/schools/minnetonkahighschool/Pages/default.aspx" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Minnetonka's</a> varsity season kicks off at 7 p.m. Friday at home against Hudson, and <a href="http://www.hopkinsschools.org/schools/hopkins-high-school" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Hopkins</a> plays its first game at 7 p.m. Friday at Chaska. Before that, Minnetonka has 9A, 9B and 10A games at 3 p.m. Friday, all at home against Hudson. The JV season starts at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hudson, along with the 10B season. Hopkins 9A and 9B scrimmages at 11:15 a.m. at Eden Prairie. The JV season starts at 10 a.m. against Chaska at home.
