Gas Line Hit By Contractor on Shady Hills Road

A gas line was hit on Shady Hills Road near Vine Hill Road while contractors were putting in a cable line Thursday afternoon.

Excelsior Fire District and South Lake Minnetonka Poilce were called to the scene on the west border of Minnetonka at 1:40 p.m. With the road blocked off with cones at 2:30 p.m., they were still waiting for an evaluation from CenterPoint Energy.

"It's a hit gas line, but we don't know exactly how bad or where at this point," said Scott Gerber of Excelsior Fire District. 

Shortly after, the leak was clamped off and repaired.

Gerber said there was no danger to anybody in the area.
