My name is Jay, and I'm offering to tutor your child during the upcoming academic year. My calendar usually fills up quickly, so please act early to secure services. I'm expanding my coverage area to include most Minneapolis suburbs this year due to demand and my increased availability.
You will find my philosophy built around results. If you don't like them or are unsatisfied with your child's progress, you are free to discontinue tutoring sessions at any time and with no hard feelings.
A bit about me: award-winning journalist with a decade of experience in print and online media. A 2006 graduate of St. Cloud State University, I'm fluent in AP Style, can construct child-specific goal ladders and am myself a parent of a Minnetonka School District student.
New students will begin with an assessment of skills, followed by a parental conference to determine desired course of session content and cognitive concentration.
I specialize in enhancing your child's understanding of grammar concepts, enhancing reading comprehension, expanding age-appropriate vocabulary, research techniques, spelling and creative writing--even typing.
I charge $50 per hour--firm--and will travel to your home or meet your child for sessions at a public venue such as Caribou or a library. Reservations are available between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Monday through Friday from September through May.
