Minnetonka Principal Named to Education Task Force

The group will come up with a method to evaluate the performance of principals.

David Adney, principal of , has been named to serve on the legislatively-mandated Principal Evaluation working group.  

Senator Terri Bonoff (DFL- Minnetonka), who is a member of the Senate Education Committee, will serve as a legislative member of the group.

Minnesota Education Commissioner Brenda Cassellius named 28 members and four state legislators to serve on the task force charged with developing policy recommendation to implement a performance-based model for principal evaluation.

“Great schools depend on great school leaders,” Cassellius said. “It’s important to make sure we not only recognize effective principals, but that we also have tools in place to help them continue to grow professionally.

The working group was created by legislation passed during the 2011 special session.

The first meeting is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 24 at 1 p.m. at the TIES Building, 1667 Snelling Ave. N. St. Paul in the Snelling Room.
