Night for Neighbors Unites Minnetonka (Photos)

More than 150 events were hosted in the city.

Each summer, the the hosts Minnetonka’s Night for Neighbors, another name for National Night Out, on the first Tuesday in August. This year's annual event where neighbors can get together to promote safety was Tuesday, Aug. 2.

Minnetonka police partnered with the  to host a food drive for residents hosting events. More than 7,300 pounds of food was donated last year. This year, the neighborhood with the most food donated by weight will win the prize of 40 cruise passes on the Queen of Excelsior. Before deciding the winner, the Police Department has to collect and weigh the food.
