Suspected Minnetonka Burglar Jeffrey Boemer Caught

Minnetonka Police have been searching for the suspect since May.

, who has been wanted by Minnetonka Police since May in connection with several Minnetonka burglaries, was caught the night of Wednesday, June 13.

Boemer was found by Minneapolis officers in the area of East 19th Street and Nicollet Avenue South in Minneapolis and arrested by Minnetonka Police. He was found in a Lexus stolen from Minnetonka, said Minnetonka Police Captain Scott Boerboom.

"They're doing the clean-up right now, putting all the pieces together," Boerboom said.

Boemer is currently in jail, and police have until Friday at noon to charge him with a crime.

On May 23, the issued a bulletin for Boemer. He was identified as a suspicious person who was seen in the Holdridge neighborhood in west Minnetonka where a burglary was committed on Monday, May 21.

Police say Boemer is homeless and has been known to use public transportation to travel from Minneapolis to the western suburbs. A $1,000 reward had been issued for information leading to his capture.

Sergeant Dave Riegert of the Minnetonka Police Department describes Boemer as a "bad dude" with an extensive criminal record.

Boemer has been convicted twice of burglary offenses in Minnetonka. He was sentenced to just under four years in prison after a 1997 felony conviction and given 96 months after being found guilty in 2000 of felony-level burglary.
