Take Your Student to Teen Vogue’s Back-to-School Saturday
Also this week: Help the boys' soccer team and enjoy Shady Oak Beach.

Teens looking for the latest styles can visit Ridgedale Center on Saturday for Teen Vogue’s Back-to-School Saturday event.
Minneapolis College of Art and Design students and emerging local designers will present a “Full Fashion Panic” presentation, along with other fashion shows. Macy’s will offer make-up sessions and a teen skin care clinic, as well as offer free food samples. Attendees will also be able to pose in a photo booth, get special offers and meet Carly Aplin and Kirk DeWindt from the CW Twin Cities.
Shoppers can also participate in “Way to Grow”—a backpack and school supplies donation program. Donations will be available in the mall Saturday through Sept. 10.

Other events happening this weekend:
- Get your car washed and help the soccer team: The Hopkins High School boys’ soccer booster club is sponsoring a car wash in the parking lot just outside of the Caribou Coffee at the intersection of Highway 7 and Hopkins Crossroads to help raise funds for the team. They’ll be accepting free will donations.
- Enjoy Shady Oak Beach: With summer on the wane, Shady Oak Beach is on its shorter hours. But you can still enjoy the nice days while they remain. The beach is open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Aug. 25. Swimming in the lake ends a half hour before sunset.
