UPDATE: Bren Road Bridge to Be Removed Friday
No legal action neccessary as city gets to work on the Bren/Hwy. 169 interchange.

The Bren Road bridge will be removed Friday, July 29. Demolition and debris removal requires a full shutdown of Minnesota Highway 169 in both directions, from County Road 62 to Excelsior Boulevard from 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) stopped work on the during the state shutdown and, last week, the City of Minnetonka considered taking against MnDOT. Now that the project is back on track, the issue is water under the soon-to-be-demolished bridge.
Preparing the complete closure of the highway, crews will partially close lanes on Highway 169 from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday. Crews will work around the clock during the bridge closure to complete work by Monday morning. Motorists familiar with the area are encouraged to use Shady Oak Road to avoid the construction zone.
