
The Rice County Environmental Services Department will be offering three free appliance recycling collection events this fall. Rice County residents will be able to bring appliances for recycling free of charge to these events. Only Rice County residents are eligible to bring in appliances and proof of county residency will be required (driver's license or utility bill with ID verification). No business electronics will be accepted.
The first collection event will be held on Saturday, September 15th from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Rice County Fairgrounds, 1814 2nd Ave NW, Faribault. The second collection event will be held on Saturday, September 29th from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Rice County Highway Shop, 110 5th Ave NW, Lonsdale and the third event will be held on Saturday, October 6th from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Rice County Highway Shop, 590 Co Rd 1, Dundas.
The following are the types of items that will be accepted: Refrigerators, Freezers, Washers, Dryers, Microwaves, Ovens & Stoves, Dishwashers, Garbage disposals, Trash compactors, Air conditioners, Dehumidifiers, Hot water heaters, Heat pumps, and Furnaces.
The following items will NOT be accepted: small devices such as fans, toasters, hair dryers, electric pans & blenders; electronics; garbage or household hazardous waste.
