January Community Services Happenings

Start off the new year with a Northfield Public Schools Community Services class. Programs for ages birth to senior are available throughout the year.

Don’t let the mild winter weather stop you from checking out the annual “Introduction to Ice Fishing” for ages 6 to 14 with a guardian. Class runs from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 15. Cost of class is $3 and includes lunch. Location details will be sent to registrants.

Get out and about when you’re not in school this month with a Community Services release day activities for elementary school students. Head up to Nickelodeon Universe on Jan. 16 or go snow tubing at Afton Alps on Jan. 23. Cost is $28 per day. More details are online or in the Community Services brochure.

Do you have a child starting kindergarten next year who you’d like to get ready for school? Check out the Early Childhood Family Education classes “Time Before Kindergarten” and “Kids Only” on Monday and Tuesday afternoons. ECFE winter and spring classes begin Jan. 30. All classes are online and open for registration.
