John C Holland, Jr., age 77, passed peacefully Nov 11, 2011 in Northfield, MN. Born Dec 7, 1933 in Kansas City, MO.
Attended De La Salle, Military Academy, graduated in 1951. Graduated Rockhurst College then joined Naval Air serving 13 years obtaining rank of Lt. Commander.
Worked for Northwest Airlines for 27 years as Captain of DC-10’s and 747’s, retired in 1991.

Survived by three daughters Gail Holland and partner Michael Varanelli of Webster, MN; Gwenn Holland-Robison and husband Michael of Henderson, NV; and Gina Holland of Helena, MT; brothers David Holland of Prairie Village, KS; Calvin Holland and wife Georgia “Peach” of Eureka Springs, AR; 4 nieces Jessica Peery-Moffitt of Baldwin City, KS; Cristina Kinnard and husband Ray of Kansas City, KS; Lisa Holland-Hoffman and husband Nick Hoffman of Olathe, KS; Jennifer Watkins and husband Eric of Fayetteville, AR; 5 grandchildren Brian Varanelli stationed in South Korea; Nina and Richelle Robison of Henderson, NV; Anthony Varanelli of Burnsville,MN; Steven Varanelli of Faribault, MN; 1 great granddaughter Nina Varanelli of St Paul, MN.
Services will be 11am Nov 16, 2011 at the D. W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel in Overland Park, KS
