Mill Towns Trail Awarded $10,000

The Parks & Trails Council of Minnesota has been awarded .

Cycling advocate Peggy Prowe says the council will use the money to buy right-of-way of land for an important link between Lake Byllesby Regional Park and Goodhue County Park along the Cannon River—including a canoe portage and 3.75 miles of trail. 

This portion of the Mill Towns Trail will be for bicycling and pedestrians as it comes out of Dakota Regional Park at Byllesby toward Cannon Falls.

The Parks & Trails Council has an agreement with the Friends of the Mill Towns State Trail to assist with acquisition of Cannon River south bank for the trail. This will pay about 1/5 of the acquisition legal/staff costs.
